(but I won't bore you...)

A little history lesson

Brought up in the countryside, I was always interested in fantasy and the unknown. I was unsatisfied with reality so would create my own worlds to escape to. It was only in Primary school when I realised I could fall into the places in my head by picking up a pen.

Raised in a very traditional and hardworking family, there's nothing more in this world I love than spending time with them. Their strong characters inspired many of my own in my books and I love them for it.

I wanted to be a writer since the age of 12. I sent off my first manuscript to Harper Collins and with my first rejection became obsessed with making the dream come true.

After studying a Degree in Creative Writing and working in jobs that never seemed to fill the void that writing did, I decided to take the plunge and write full time.

I had my first book, Tartarus published in 2012, a dark horror that followed the journey of Diane Stillman and her pursuit to find her sister's killer.

In 2013, The first of The Adventures of Benedict and Blackwell Series, The Girl with Nine Lives was born, a cosy detective mystery centering around the life of Elena Blackwell and her talking cat Benedict. Their journey continued with The Girl who Bit Back and later The Girl with Ten Claws.

In 2016, I then published my first children's book The Adventures of Captain Claw Paw in memory of Charlie Codling. You can find more about him here: www.charliecodling.co.uk

At the start of this year, The Contract of Maddox Black was finally published, bringing with her stormy seas, ships, demons and of course the ancient town of Greyport. Caught in a world terrified by the unnatural, Maddox finds herself stuck between avoiding the hangman's noose and making a deal with a demon-hunter.
